For this gift guide, me and my compadres visited 68 shops over four days, from Murray Street to Canal, Washington to Broadway. Sprinkled in there were beers at Puffy’s, hot chocolate at Maman, coffee at Rigor Hill Market and wine at the bar at the Odeon. It’s grueling (well, maybe not that last part) but it’s a blast.

What we all love most is chatting with our local shopkeepers — who in many cases now recognize us, though maybe because our clipboards are a dead giveaway. They are always gracious, fun and ready to talk shop. And below, some of my fave shots from our travels.

Each of us did some damage — I crossed off a good half dozen folks on my list plus three significant birthdays. Try it. You won’t regret it.
