In the News: BPCA sues Pier A operators

PIER A LESSEES SUED BY BPC
The Broadsheet reports that the Battery Park City Authority is suing the restauranteurs and the investors behind Pier A — Harry’s, Le District, The Dead Rabbit, etc owners Peter Poulakakos and Paul Lamas among others — for more than $8 million. From the Broadsheet: “The legal action seeks a combination of unpaid rent, interest, and rent that would otherwise have been collected if the restaurant had not ceased operations, and if it had not been given earlier concessions on its rent by the Authority.”

Crain’s reports
that the developer RXR is planning to convert 61 Broadway, a 33-story office tower just south of Rector. This is part of the company’s “broader portfolio review it has dubbed Project Kodak after the photographic film–maker, which also rethought its business model as its industry faced disruption. The 753,000-square-foot building, built in 1916, currently has 16 vacancies, among the highest in RXR’s New York portfolio, according to the company’s website.”

FIRST BITES AT GOA NEW YORK
Eater’s critic got to Goa New York, the new Indian restaurant on Leonard, before they even launched the full menu, going for the $150 tasting menu that they were offering until this week. The five-course meal took two and a half hours.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE LEAVES 443 GREENWICH
The Real Deal reports that Jennifer Lawrence has sold her 3100-square-foot apartment at 443 Greenwich, the celebrity dorm on Vestry. It went for $9.75 million to three shell companies registered in Las Vegas. She bought it in 2017 for $9.03 million.
