In the News: Halloween action at Ghostbusters HQ

WHO YOU GONNA CALL?
Ghostbusters News reports that Ladder 8 on N. Moore will be handing out free (and very cool) Ghostbusters t-shirts on Halloween. “For those hoping to get their hands on this limited offering, Hook & Ladder has confirmed that this will be available ONLY in-house at the firehouse and will not be sold online.”

BLACK FURNITURE DESIGNERS AT 51 HUDSON
Wallpaper has a feature on the show at Verso gallery, at 51 Hudson, titled ‘Spotlight II’, an exhibition of furniture made by Black designers, curated by designer Little Wing Lee, who is the founder/creative director of Studio & Projects. Designers include Norman Teague, Nifemi Marcus-Bello and Peter Mabeo. Until Nov. 10. Verso is a travelling gallery and is now installed with Lambert & Fils, the lighting designers on the corner of the north fork of Duane.

DOGPOUND CHARGES $36K A YEAR??
I had no idea: Dogpound, the gym that opened in 2016 in what is officially Hudson Square on the corner of Canal and Renwick, charges by the year, and the British Telegraph says it’s $36,000! Turns out that is the “black” membership — and that is the highest tier. There’s silver for $8k a year, and platinum for $23k a year. You have to apply for membership.

GUT RENO ON READE STREET
The Reade Street townhouse triplex that got a gut renovation recently is featured in Architectural Digest. The design is by Jae Joo who reworked 3,800 square feet, with three bedrooms and 4.5 baths, as well as a sculptural staircase in a living space with gargantuan concrete columns and 22-and-a-half-foot ceilings. Though the coolest item is easily the BDDW ping pong table.
