I’m not sure I will recognize the corner of Warren and Greenwich once the scaffolding is down, but it looks like that will be the view within the next two months. (Thanks to E., T. and A. for the shots.)
Lisa commented last week that she spotted the scaffolding coming down — and when I went out that next morning I didn’t see a difference, but in fact the removal of the scaffold on the school itself is ongoing as of now and should be completed by mid-August, the press rep from the School Construction Authority said.
The sidewalk shed removal will start around mid-August and be completed by the end of August.
The Donna Dennis fence is being installed this week.
The interior work and painting is ongoing as well, and the full project is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.
Too exciting.
The work at the school has had a few false starts; it was first scheduled to begin in November 2022, and then really got going last March. The sidewalk shed along the Warren Street side of the building has been up by the SCA’s account since 2017, though it sure feels like longer.
It’s INSANE how long that scaffolding was up. The City is among the worst offenders when it comes to erecting scaffolding and avoiding the actual repairs.
