Naturino shoe store is moving to Chambers

Naturino, the shoe store for kids that has been on Reade and Greenwich/Hudson for a decade, is moving to 157 Chambers, right behind the store essentially. The new store will open August 1; in the meantime, there’s a moving sale at 147 Reade. (Thanks to M. and N. for the heads up.)

That really rounds out that stretch of Chambers, which had a lot of new openings in the past two years: Tribeca Gents Barbershop, MD Hyperbaric, StretchLab and Whitening Bar. (Petco Unleashed closed in 2020.)

The store was opened in 2016 by Jae Lee, who was an old friend of Roz Viemeister, who had Shoofly on Hudson. The two had stores a block apart on the Upper West Side way back; Lee has had kids shoe stores for 40 years. “I always wanted a shop in Tribeca,” Lee said at the time, “but I wasn’t going to open right near her. Then she decided to retire and this spot became available — the rest is history.” Lee even hired three former Shoofly staffers when she opened.

(That spot was also the short-lived Pookie & Sebastian boutique; before that, Adeline Adeline bike shop.)

Naturino is two-thirds shoes (newborn to teen) and one-third apparel (newborn to 8). The majority of shoes are Naturino, but they also carry Uggs, Skechers, Geox, New Balance.

I will follow up when they open on Chambers.
