TAMID TO HOST JEWISH GATHERING ON 9/11
Tamid NYC will host a gathering for Jewish 9/11 families and friends to the 25th anniversary of 9/11, which this year coincides with the first night of Rosh Hashanah. In partnership with UJA Federation of New York, families will both usher in a New Year and remember and honor Jewish 9/11 victims. Former Tribecan Joe Daniels, a Tamid member and former Founding CEO of the National September 11th Memorial & Museum, will speak about the significance of this anniversary and share his own reflections on this moment in history. BLACK GOTHAM EXPERIENCE AT THE SEAPORT
The South Street Seaport Museum will host an event with Black Gotham Experience called Nerdy Thursday on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 6:30p at 213 Water Street. Advanced registration is suggested for this free event. The moderated conversation brings together guest experts to examine Black History in connection to the nation’s founding ideals and the evolution of liberty in the country. It will draw on stories from the Revolutionary War and documents featured in museum’s exhibit, The Promise of Liberty, including a first edition of Frederick Douglass’s 1855 autobiography “My Bondage and My Freedom.”
