Framebridge, the direct-to-consumer frame store, has taken Audrey Matlock’s space at 141 West Broadway betwen Thomas and Duane. This was at one time going to be the second home of Anotheroom; this will likely allow neighbors to relax, since that block struggles with drainage issues. (Thanks to L. for catching the news.)

The company was founded in 2014 in DC by Susan Tynan, who is still the CEO though it was acquired in 2020. She started opening retail stores in 2019; there are now 68 across the country. Wirecutter picks them as the best online framing service, calling them the “dependable workhorse.”

Tynan’s origin story: “I had collected four National Parks posters from our trips and took them to a custom frame shop… There were too many options, the consultation was uncomfortable, the turnaround time was weeks, and the posters cost $400 each to be framed. So I started Framebridge: to make high-quality custom framing easy, beautiful, and affordable so people could frame more often.”

The neighborhood has several small businesses that provide framing, though the OG, L&O, closed in July.
