RECLAIMING GROUND ZERO
A documentary titled “9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero” was released last week on a bunch of digital platforms recounting the massive brainstorming session that created the plan for the World Trade Center. From their promo: “The city did something unprecedented, and possibly reckless. It gathered 5,000 ordinary New Yorkers into a single room for the largest town hall in American history. Everyone braced for chaos. Shouting. Grief boiling over into a brawl. What happened instead was democracy, in its rawest and most fragile form, and it changed the future of Lower Manhattan forever.” Directed by J.B. Sabey and featuring Stephen Heintz, Monica Iken, Daniel Libeskind, Errol Louis, Carolyn Lukensmeyer and George Pataki.

TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL AT 25
“TRIBECA 25,” the documentary about the Tribeca Film Festival, will be released on Netflix on September 11. Directed by Matt Tyrnauer, the film traces how Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal created the film festival to help revive Lower Manhattan. From their promo: “Through archival footage, interviews, and scenes from downtown, the film explores the relationship between art and civic life — how storytelling can help restore a sense of community after profound tragedy. The visual language of the film draws from Manhattan street photography.”

BOUQUETS FOR 9/11
Citizens Bank will once again provide complimentary floral arrangements for family members, visitors and neighbors visiting the 9/11 memorials on Friday, September 11, starting at 8a until the flowers are distributed. Flowers will be available at both their branches in Tribeca at 110 West Broadway and at Bowling Green, 26 Broadway. Wilder Gardens and Flowers creates the floral arrangements using native New York State wildflowers.

9/11 COMMEMORATION AT NEW YORK LAW SCHOOL
New York Law School will commemorate September 11 with a panel discussion titled “25 Years Later: Remembrance, Resilience, and the Future of Lower Manhattan” on Thursday, September 10, 9 to 10:30a. The panelists are Carol Kellermann, former executive director of the September 11th Fund; Nancy Lefkowitz, executive vice president of Tribeca Enterprises; Christopher Ward, former executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; and James Whelan, president of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). 9/11 BROADCAST: TRIBUTE IN LIGHT
Cyndi Lauper will perform during “9/11 Tribute in Light: Live from Lower Manhattan,” a one-hour live special airing on Friday, September 11, at 8p across ABC, Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic, ABC Owned Television Stations livestreams and ABC News Live, in partnership with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. Lauper’s performance will be part of “Tribute in Light,” the annual commemorative public art installation that has illuminated the New York City skyline every September 11 since 2002. Previously announced performers include Lainey Wilson and John Ondrasik of Five For Fighting. Anchors David Muir, Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer will host. Lauper, Wilson and Ondrasik will perform from the base of the iconic beams.
