As you may recall, I asked people to contribute photos of One World Trade Center (formerly known as the Freedom Tower), which is becoming more visible from all over the area. Several folks sent in photos—thanks!—and I did my best to fill in the gaps. (I didn’t get south of 1WTC much because of the weather….) So here are the photos from the north, with the rest to follow; they’re by me unless otherwise noted. As I’ve shot these, I keep being astounded that the building is only halfway to its final height—it really is going to be a mammoth presence in Lower Manhattan. One more thing: Last week, I learned via Manhattan User’s Guide that in early December the Port Authority had started a blog, 1 WTC View, with the same goal. Feel free to add your photos to that site or, to add them here, send them to me at tribecacitizen@gmail.com.
