EARTH DAY CELEBRATION IN MUSIC
Brookfield will host a free concert by the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra in the Winter Garden on Saturday, April 22, at 7p. No tickets are required. The concert, titled Music of Our Sphere, is in celebration of Earth Day. It was originally scheduled for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020. The program includes the world premiere of KCO founder and music director Gary S. Fagin’s new cantata “In Every Grain of Sand.” More info here.

WOMEN’S BREAKFAST ON SALARY TRANSPARENCY
The Downtown Alliance’s final Women’s Breakfast of the season will explore the impact of New York City’s salary transparency legislation on April 25 at 7 World Trade Center from 8:30 to 10a. A panel of experts will discuss the fight to pass the bill, the significance of pay equity and how the job market is changing on a daily basis. Tickets are $5 here.

BATARD IS STAYING THE COURSE
A notice for a new liquor license for Bâtard had me worried, but a call from Drew Nieporent assured me that this is just the addition of a new business partner, and the SLA requires a new hearing. That space housed Nieporent’s very first restaurant in the neighborhood — before Nobu and before Tribeca Grill: Montrachet, which opened in 1985.
