You don’t go to the Palm for something new—you go because you want well-executed versions of timeless American steakhouse dishes, such as steak, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, and so on. The Palm’s success—there are locations around the country, including three in the city—attests to the consistency of the experience. The room is decidedly butch, all wood and leather and blinds and, to add character, caricatures drawn right on the walls; the restaurant is particularly accommodating for groups and, in the bar, solo diners (if they don’t mind the TVs). The menu includes calorie counts, which will either help you navigate or bum you out. Note: Delivery is for lunch only.
