A trio of Hearst magazines partnered with 250 West for Designer Visions, showhouses that were supposed to be kicked off with a big party on Oct. 30. Hurricane Sandy intervened, and my plan to go to the party (I was even invited) and scope out the public spaces as well as the showhouses fell by the wayside. I’m a little iffy on showhouses—I prefer to see real people’s homes—but those of you who just want decorating inspiration in a Tribeca setting will be in heaven.
This one is by the Rockwell Group. “The story we invented here is about a young couple,” David Rockwell (who lives in Tribeca) told House Beautiful. “He’s American, she’s Dutch, and they’ve been living in Amsterdam. He’s come here to be the media director of the new downtown Whitney museum. She’s just gone into business for herself as a fashion designer. Her specialty is denim.”
