1) Hudson River Park Update by Madelyn Wils, President Time for a hard opening date for the upland Tribeca section?
2) Tribeca Bike Lanes – Presentation by New York City Department of Transportation I’m all for bike lanes, especially if cyclists would use them (and go in the right direction), but NOT THE ONES WHERE THE CARS ARE AWAY FROM THE STREET. If the DOT does that to W. Broadway or Hudson, I’ll cry.
3) Temporary Art on Franklin Street – Presentation by New York City Department of Transportation This must be for the part of Franklin (in front of Pécan) that was closed for Citi Bike.
4) Tribeca Trust’s pedestrian plaza application – Presentation and Possible Resolution So the big question is whether Tribeca Trust can persuade the DOT to rethink the plan in #3 to accommodate a bigger pedestrian plan for the stretch of W. Broadway between Franklin and Worth (next to the Con Ed substation).
5) JCP Sukkot Bock Party street activity permit application for Duane Street between Church Street and West Broadway, Sunday, September 22, 2013, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm – Resolution
6) Shinola Block Party street activity permit application for Franklin Street between Greenwich Street and Hudson Street, Sunday, September 14, 2013, 11:00 am to 5:30 pm – Resolution Could this mean that Shinola isn’t opening its flagship Franklin Street showroom/shop till after Labor Day?
7) 61 Warren Street, application for a wine and beer license for Mariachi’s Restaurant Corp. – Resolution This showed up late on last month’s agenda, and then it got postponed. 61 Warren is the Bigger Little Place, the Mexican restaurant at Church. It looks like a change of ownership, but that has been denied. So what is it?
8) 94 Chambers Street, application for a liquor license for Racine NY LLC – Resolution 94 Chambers is where the Jhankar Indian restaurant was. If I had to bet money, I’d wager that the space is getting another corporate fast-casual place. Still, on that block, it might be welcome.
9) 13 Walker Street, application for a liquor license for Anotherroom Inc – Resolution Is Anotherroom finally selling hard liquor?
10) 135 Watts Street AKA 451 Washington Street, application for a liquor license for China Blue – Resolution Discussed here.
11) 85 West Broadway, application for a liquor license alteration for Smyth Tribeca – Resolution The hotel already has a late one, I think, so it’ll be interesting to see if it wants more for its downstairs lounge.
12) 11 Avenue of the Americas, application for a liquor license alteration for Eleven Food and Beverage Inc. – Resolution I think 11 Sixth Ave. is Tribeca Tavern (but its address always comes up as 247 W. Broadway). Not sure what more it could want.

As for the 911 Memorial Family Day street activity permit application for Vesey Street between Church Street and Broadway — we received notice recently that that block of vesey will be closed and dug-up this summer for infrastructure work that will occur 7 pm to 7 am each night. Can there be anything there on sept 11?.
It’s a good thing your opinion does not matter
Anyone have any views on Margaret Chin’s proposal to fine tourists for purchasing ‘knock-off’ goods on Canal Street? (See recent Tribeca Trib article on Council hearings – CB1 have passed a resolution in favor of this).This is a crazy idea. The police complain “The local enforcement, however, typically results in just a few arrests per day, he noted, since the cops can only make an arrest when they witness a sale, and the peddlers are often successful in hiding the transactions.” Instead of fining tourists why not change the law to make POSSESSION of counterfeit goods the offense not the transaction itself? It is surely the sellers we want to shut down, not the tourists who will probably leave the country and not pay the fine anyway.
QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE: Why do I not see a word mentioned on the RESTORATION OF THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE “NOISE” & WHITE LIGHTS, all NIGHT LONG EVERY NIGHT?? This is the SECOND year they are working in the same spot outside the side of 333 Pearl Street. THERE IS NO “QUALITY OF LIFE” at 333 PEARL STREET.
Ms. Glasser, There was quite a good piece in the Citizen a few days ago about remedies for construction noise which might help you get some attention on this. Contacting Margaret Chin’s office is one way, making calls to 311 and documenting issues with photos or videos is another. Also attending the QoL Committee and telling them and the CB1 liaison guy about the issues would be a good way to bring this to the attention of those who may be able to do something about it. The CB1 Seaport Committee is another body which has spent quite a bit of time on it too although from your comments, without too much success. Just like those who live close to the Chambers Street construction you just have to keep plugging away.
I’ll take the other side of that bet on 94 Chambers. Should be much more interesting than you suppose.
