••• It now seems pretty clear that the new plan for 67 Vestry includes the low-slung garage to the south on Washington (which is obvious now that I look at that schematic drawing again)—so it’ll have a much larger footprint than just 67 Vestry. Both it and the Related building going up on the west side of that block will make for a crazy construction period…. UPDATE: As Marc points out in the comments, I got my buildings mixed up—this is 31 Desbrosses, not 67 Vestry. (Obvious to me now that the drugs have worn off.)
••• Bubby’s has a cow again, but it’s the not the one that was stolen. The new cow was brought over from the Bubby’s in the Meatpacking District; it was originally in Tribeca, so this is a homecoming of sorts—and probably good news, all in all, for a cow to be away from the Meatpacking District. This cow is heavier than the other one, so it’s harder to snatch.
••• The PR reps for Fairway told me that they didn’t have any news on when the new store might open, but whoever is in charge of the company’s Twitter account tweeted that it should be in early 2015.
••• Superstar Gym (in Truffles, next to Fika) has been acquired by Canali Club and rebranded accordingly.
••• From a reader: “I was down near the Church St. Post Office yesterday at lunchtime and heard what sounded like live music, but couldn’t identify the source. A while later I walked to Greenwich and saw that there was a band packing up in the little park in front of 7 WTC. The stage had a big Silverstein banner and a smaller one from BMI. Google turned up this page on Silverstein’s website and this one on BMI’s. Neither one gives the full remaining schedule (which is said to be each Friday through Aug 23).”
••• Poor Jungsik. No sooner does the sidewalk shed come down—after what, ten years?—than the street outside gets torn up.

Seems like you may have your buildings mixed up. The building at 67 Vestry is on the South corner of Vestry and West, with no connection to Washington Street. There is NO ‘low-slung garage to the south on Washington.’ The picture you published shows the building on the Southwest corner of Washington and Desbrosses (31 Desbrosses)….which happens to be adjacent to a low-slung garage to the south on Washington.
Ack, you’re totally right. Thanks for the factcheck. 31 Desbrosses and 67 Vestry have similar situations in recent years (developer trying to turn out the residents) so I evidently get them confused. I was planning on heading up there this am — I’ll bring a map and figure out exactly which buildings are Related and which are Ponte (and leave 67 vestry out of it).
