First Look: Inside the Pier A Restaurants

Pier A entrance by MM De VoePen Parentis‘s founder and unofficial TC FiDi stringer M.M. De Voe tweeted several photos from inside and around the 38,000 28,000-square-foot Pier A, opening in late September from the Poulakakos family. The layout: “Oyster bar & beer bar is ground floor. Second floor 3 cocktail lounges and a fine dine. Top floor private events.” I’m not sure if she’ll be sending any more photos, but if she does, I’ll add them here. (Thanks, M.M.!)

UPDATE: She sent a ton more! Superthanks, M.M.! She asked that I mention that David Gilbert (New York Times bestselling author of & Sons) will be reading at Pen Parentis’s season opener on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Andaz Wall Street—and it’s obviously the least I can do. (UPDATE #2: Descriptions and floor plans are here.)

They did a gorgeous job.” Gotta say I’m excited to see it for myself….

  1. I hope the food is good, but hesitate. The poulakakos group is not know for good food, but good drinking. We need good dining options in that area.

  2. When is this actually going to open? They originally said July so its definitely not on schedule. It seems that they’ve been close to being done for months now with no additional progress seeming to have been made all summer. I’m beginning to think they’re running into problems. I know the local community has been up in arms over the prospect of a bar in the area (to hear some people talk, it is as if they expect BPC to turn into the Meatpacking District overnight – as if!). I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re having liquor license issues. It just seems like they got everything right up to being almost ready to open and then everything just stopped.

  3. Pier A training begins Monday, Nov 10th. Hoping to be open a week or so later.
