  • Adding my gratitude and amazement at what you've accomplished over the last many years. You've kept your vision and commitment to a wonderful news source that many of us still turn to for the Daily News of Tribeca. Integral to your wonderful efforts, is the sense of community that you have provided in good times and bad. We are all the better for your steadfastness and devotion to the common good. — Barrie Mandel on The Trib at 25: Looking back on two and a half decades of covering Tribeca

  • Congratulations Carl and April and thank you Pam for this wonderful and well deserved tribute. The Tribeca Trib gives the community its last vestige of a soul... — Alice Blank on The Trib at 25: Looking back on two and a half decades of covering Tribeca

  • Congratulations April and Carl. More than publish, they are true journalists. Unlike many publishers around town, they actually will print Letters to the Editor critical of their writings. They are truly an irreplaceable part of the local fabric. God bless. — Johnb on The Trib at 25: Looking back on two and a half decades of covering Tribeca

  • A bit of irony in the video with the little snippet of birdsong since these reflective glass monoliths are bird killers. It will be interesting to see how new buildings will incorporate the city's recently passed law that requires "bird safe" glass to be used in new construction. — JS Miller on In the News: Revamped design for Two World Trade

  • I would love it if the Woolworth building still lit up its upper stories. It was a jewel. — Carla Bauer on Seen & Heard: Restaurant week starts tomorrow

  • Congratulations Carl and April on 25 years of your insightful and excellent coverage of Tribeca. I miss the print edition, but I am happy that you are continuing your work with the online paper. It does give us the chance to see Carl's wonderful video coverage of local events. — JS Miller on The Trib at 25: Looking back on two and a half decades of covering Tribeca

  • I agree! Also love the wacky light shows going on at 115 Broadway, the south side of Zuccotti Park... — Tribeca Citizen on Seen & Heard: Restaurant week starts tomorrow

  • Yes, but what about the spectacular light shows which are now, from time to time illuminating the upper stories of The David Dinkins Building at 1 Center Street?? The new light system on the cupola is quite an addition to downtown. The Head of Operations at the building produced a very colorful display on MLK Day and has managed other displays on certain days. Well worth looking out for. — Bob on Seen & Heard: Restaurant week starts tomorrow

  • Great story, this is what journalism really should be. Hope they go on for ever!! Congratulations to Carl & April. — Bob on The Trib at 25: Looking back on two and a half decades of covering Tribeca

  • Thank you for honoring Carl, April and the Trib- it really was our Hometown Paper. I still miss the print edition . — madeline c lanciani on The Trib at 25: Looking back on two and a half decades of covering Tribeca

  • Congratulations, Carl and April. You have helped make Tribeca what it is. Your work over a quarter of a century is the fabric of our neighborhood. You have been there to enlighten, reveal, expose, admire, explain. Yours is the exemplar of what a community newspaper should be. So many touchstones have been touched by you. So many important and meaningful changes to our home have been catalyzed by you. Thanks. — Bruce Ehrmann on The Trib at 25: Looking back on two and a half decades of covering Tribeca

  • Liked the idea that BIG wasn't just a glass tower and had several terraces. At least they attempted a bit of a contextual approach versus another vanity tower. Oh well.. — Tk on In the News: Revamped design for Two World Trade

  • The other towers do not appear to be even half full - do we really need more office space down here? More glass? I would love the terrace idea, hanging gardens, except that I am not convinced much would grow up there given even mild winds which can be quite strong on a high terrace. — C on In the News: Revamped design for Two World Trade

  • This is a bummer. Sure target and Duane reade can work in a pinch but if you really wanted a special card, or a proper selection you went to papyrus. I’m sure I’m part of the problem being an amazon clicker 3-4 times a day but it still kinda sucks — Boo! on All Papyrus stores are closing this month

  • In another story I read, Papyrus products will still be available at the many other retail outlets that carry them. In my opinion, this was part of what lead to the demise of the Papyrus stores...you can find the product everywhere...I'm pretty sure you can buy them at a bank. — Makes You Go "Hmm-m-m" on All Papyrus stores are closing this month

  • Fully agree. This market has a perverse cost/quality ratio. We will surely not miss it. The Battery Place Market has gone down in quality and service, too. Have noticed that there was a 3M USD transaction in commercial space in that building just a few weeks ago, so wondering what will be next there.. South BPC really would require the market to bring some reasonable grocery and restaurant options. Otherwise, we’ll keep on Amazon Prime’ing and Walmart’ing.. — CK on Another one bites the dust: Gristedes to close in BPC

  • Great to see this huge retail space brought back to life after sitting vacant for 8 years. Milk Cafe closed in December 2011 after a challenging environment surrounding the Occupy Wall Street protests. A few years later, Dean & Deluca signed a lease, but then they got into a financial mess and never even begun work. The Dean & Deluca "Coming Soon" sign stayed up for years.
