After Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc in the Seaport, one of the two couples behind Front Street favorite Barbarini Alimentari, Stefano Barbagallo and Adriana Luque, decided to try again in the same space. Barbalu—a portmanteau created from their last names—is a mix of industrial slickness and rustic wood and brick. The menu isn’t so different from what Barbarini offered—mainly pastas, a handful of entrées. When things get a little slow, you just have to pretend you’re in Italy.
