“Peep-Up” is more like it: The latest BOFFO Building Fashion collaboradoodle—between fashion designers The Lake & Stars and design studio SOFTLab—is a dirty little trip. The long space is divided by a black wall with protruding, prismatic peepholes. Mannquins in lingerie are lined up for inspection on the other side, all clinical and white. I loved it, but you knew I would. Besides lingerie, there are sexy candles, including a Rodinesque one of a couple embracing that I may have to go back for. I told the women working there—the designers?—that I liked the candles, and I think they assumed I meant the risqué ones, because they said they were blessed by a voodoo priest in California.

There were no other visitors when I was there, which was a shame, because I imagine it’s a bit of a kick to spy on people shopping for cut-out stockings. Or to be spied on, if that’s how you swing.

Located at 57 Walker, the shop is open through Nov. 23, seven days a week from noon to 7 p.m. (6 p.m. on Sundays).
