Seen & Heard: Kori Is Reopening

••• Kori is reopening, says a sign on the door (although it also says the restaurant is closed for maintenance…), and the “SEIZED” signs are gone. The door was open when I walked by, so I popped my head in—and they said it could reopen as soon as tomorrow.

••• This came in from a reader who’d like to remain anonymous: “I live on Leonard Street and someone broke into my apartment this past Friday by forcing my terrace window open. They went through everything and stole jewelry and an iPad. Police think the burglar accessed my apartment via the roofs of other buildings as my building has a doorman. They are still actively looking into the case. Management has been telling residents with terraces to keep their windows and doors locked. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has also been experiencing break ins around the area as I am still traumatized over the events of the past week.” So that’s the second break-in via a terrace.

••• Then this came in, from someone on Walker: “A dude was caught on the fire escape of our building at 2 a.m. a couple of nights ago with a backpack.” If you or someone you know had something similar happen to you, please email tribecacitizen@gmail.com.

boat-grandprix1••• Another new sailing outfit has set up at Pier 25. Halcyon Sailing runs private trips—corporate or otherwise—on its Farr 30: “We are using world -lass racing sailboats to heighten the level of sailing offered in Manhattan,” says co-founder Craig page. There’s also a racing league for advanced sailors.
