Northern Grade, heretofore a series of roving pop-ups, has opened its first permanent store, in the former J. Crew space on Front Street in the Seaport District. From the “about” page:
Founded in 2010 by Katherine and Mark McMillan, the duo behind Pierrepont Hicks, Northern Grade highlights diverse brands that manufacture their goods in the USA. Many of the brands are larger and more established, while others are smaller brands on the rise, or what we like to call “The New American Creatives.”
The list of brands is at the bottom of this post, but rather than look each one up online, just go over and browse. You’ll find clothing for men and women, leather goods, accessories, beauty products, home decor, and more. The store is definitely worth the trip.
Northern Grade is at 203 Front St. (between Beekman and Fulton), 212-406-0300; northerngrade.com.
