That’s the New York Sports Club. Presumably a change of ownership means a rebranding…? UPDATE: “BFX gym had a location at 30 Broad,” commented Luis. “BFX is owned by NYSC. The NYSC on Wall Street lost its lease and has taken over the BFX space.”

4) 140 West Street, application for a waiver of the rooftop recreation space – Resolution

This ought to be interesting. In July, the developer of 1 Wall sought the same waiver and was challenged hard by CB1. Will 100 Barclay (as the residential part of 140 West is known) be any different?

1) 158 Duane Street, application for Board of Standards and Appeals Special Permit for a Physical Culture Establishment, YogaSpark – Resolution

As discussed here.

2) 225 West Broadway, application for liquor license for 225 West Broadway Corp – Resolution

The person who filed paperwork for 225 West Broadway Corp is Reshma Hira, who is a co-owner of Braai, a South African restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. It would seem highly likely that they’re planning something similar for the former Butterfly space. UPDATE 9/4: The answer to the question in the headline would appear to be “No.” There’s now a notice on the door saying that the business name will be Atteversiemo. But maybe they mean Attraversiamo, as in this scene from Eat Pray Love? It means “let’s cross over” in Italian.

3) 5 White Street, application for change in method of operations for North of Houston LLC – Resolution

In July, the owners of White Street restaurant floated out the possibility of a change of concept. The three options mentioned were a member’s-only wine club, an event space, or an Italian restaurant. The first two would necessitate an amended license. But the paperwork filed with CB1 actually shows a shift to a much more casual version of White Street, with a burger-heavy menu (below), lunch daily, and the addition of TVs.

White Street revised menu4) 349-351 Greenwich Street, application for liquor license for SAAR NYC, Inc. – Resolution (tentative)

When this was on the July agenda (and then pushed back), I spoke with one of the proprietors, who said they were still working out some funding issues. Until the “tentative” comes off, I think we can deduce that that’s still the case.

It currently stops at Fourth Ave. and 9th St. You know what we need in our traffic-choked neighborhood? More buses. (Since the  Tribeca Committee is invited for this item, I have to assume the bus will go down Broadway, which really can’t handle it.)

  1. BFX gym had a location at 30 Broad. BFX is owned by NYSC. The NYSC on Wall Street lost its lease and has taken over the BFX space.

  2. Is M1-5 on Walker Street (problems with neighbors, etc) to be discussed? Or have the issues been resolved?

  3. Any idea what happened with the 140 west roof exemption?
Can’t find any coverage of what actually happened at the meeting.
    Thanks
