Seen & Heard: Sea’s Canal Street Boutique Is Open

••• Racist, sexist, homophobic (and that’s just to start) author Anthony Cumia is appearing at Barnes & Noble Tribeca today at 5 p.m., and there will be protests.

••• The SEA boutique on Canal is open (and a lovely addition to the street).

••• Speaking of nice additions: Come Back Daily, the CBD store at 381 Broadway, looks sharp.

••• Koh’s Kids and ARC Athletics (through December 7) are two businesses accepting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

••• An intriguing addition on Lafayette, just south of Kenmare. The fine print says a “one of the finest, tastiest delicatessens in New York City is opening its doors to serve you an all-new sandwich featuring their world-famous pastrami.” I assume the reference to 1959 is meaningful, but I don’t know how so.

••• Does anyone at 88 Leonard know the status of the wine bar that’s coming to the former B Dry space?

  1. A washington DC institution called “Loeb’s NY Deli” appears to have been founded in 1959:

Perhaps they’re opening a New York branch?

  2. Walked by 368 Broadway a bunch of times the past few months and saw people getting inked. Finally did some googling today and learned that it’s the 368 Tattoo Project with Jerami.

  3. “Those hoping to get a taste of what once was will be able to do so from Dec. 1 to 8 at 201 Lafayette St. in the Nolita neighborhood.” From: NY Daily News- “Iconic Carnegie Deli to return to New York for one week — and sandwiches are $1”

“The temporary revival is thanks to Amazon Prime Video using it to promote the second season of its period comedy-drama, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” about a 1958 housewife who suddenly finds herself pursuing standup comedy.”
