DOLPHIN SIGHTING IN HUDSON
N. texted to tell me she spotted a dolphin in the Hudson River on Saturday. Really!! I think? Was I being pranked two days early? Am I the fool??

The pop-up store that opened at 49 Warren between West Bway and Church last summer, now has a real lease and offers unique products made in Japan, or made by Japanese artisans living in New York.

SEEN & HEARD
Midtown Italian coming to Duane? Plus happy hour on a rooftop bar in the Seaport; local kids speak up at a meeting for Pier 40; a new store for the space at Jay and Staple; a peek inside a loft in 165 Duane, the former coconut factory.

SMORGASBURG COMES TO THE OCULUS
The pop-up that was is now the new Smorgasburg WTC, opening Friday, April 12, at the Oculus Plaza and featuring 25 food stalls, including our own Duane Park Patisserie.

DIGESTING CONGESTION PRICING
Getting a handle on what congestion pricing will mean to us downtowners, especially now that it has picked up traction in the state legislature: Albany people say it’s likely they will have a deal brokered by Monday’s state budget deadline.

ARTS CENTER COMING TO GOVERNOR’S ISLAND
The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council will develop the 1870s munitions warehouse — the building to your right as you walk uphill from the ferry — as a 40,000 square foot arts center.

Lots of action for this month ahead: liquor license for 161 Duane, the old Bouley space; the start of ULURP for the jail on White; a big plan for immersive theater on William, and more!
