Some recent openings and good news on the horizon

Things seem to be picking up. Seen and heard on the horizon are some newbies and some recent post-pandemic re-openings.

BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE
Blue Bottle has taken the lease at the corner space on Greenwich and Hubert, that was once scheduled to be a Dr Smood. The company said the café is slated to open in spring/summer 2022, but they don’t have any additional details to share at the moment. (Thanks to M. for the heads up and the pic.)

AU CHEVAL
The Chicago import at 33 Cortlandt Alley reopened recently — P. sent word. He and I had both given up on them, but here they are, open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner only starting at 5p. See the hours here.

GERMAN SCHOOL OF MANHATTAN
The preschool on Warren, which took over the former Church Street School space in 2018 has officially taken over the former Park Preschool space. Here they are putting up the new sign.

ONESEED COMING THIS WEEK
OneSeed, which was almost open when the pandemic hit, is testing its kitchen at 111 Murray (midblock between Greenwich and West) now and getting ready to open on Tuesday. From their press release: “The OneSeed Classics menu will feature six mainstay dishes, including: Zoodles Bolognese with grass-fed ground beef, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh basil and a fire roasted tomato marinara; and CauliPower Curry, featuring free-range marinated chicken breast, fresh roasted veggies and drizzled with a coconut red curry sauce and toasted almonds; and more. Offerings from the OneSeed Seasonals menu will offer guests a rotating selection of specials based on availability, while its beverage offerings will include fresh fruit-infused sparkling waters and iced tea.” See more here.

  1. Good news. If only we could get back fresh Poke in the neighborhood.

  2. Had the pleasure twice to enjoy One Seed. Meals are delicious ( sauces in particular are amazing) and the healthy snacks – try the chocolate pudding – are yummmmmy! So happy it is open.

  3. So, Au Cheval reopened in the space but not Sawada Coffee?

  4. Also a Mattress Firm opening soon on Chambers st. Between Greenwich and West St
