J. wrote a couple weeks ago: “What happened to the white umbrellas that were on the downtown side of the playing field on Pier 26, shading the tables? They were so nice and they were there when the pier first opened but were gone by the next year.”

Well, they’re back! I asked the Hudson River Park Trust and I guess they must have known what J. was thinking, because he just sent an updated photo.

Shade is hard to come by on pier parks, and wind is not very friendly to umbrellas. So let’s hope these do the trick.
