Well, I can’t get any satisfaction on this one. The reply from their generic Tribeca email:
We are temporarily closed, but we’re excited to share that our new location, AIRE Ancient Baths New York Upper East Side, is ready! These are our brand-new facilities, and they’re absolutely amazing. Plus, our new location is close to the previous one. We can’t wait to welcome you soon!”
When I asked (two more times) if they were reopening here, they would not say. So…
But I had been meaning to follow up on this before they closed: Back in January 2020, they applied for a special permit from the Board of Standards and Appeals to allow the operation of a physical culture establishment at *84* Franklin — the building next door. (BTW, all spas have to get that permit. (CrossFit 212 used to be in that space, I think until 2017.)
I could have sworn that I saw a liquor license application for them at that address as well, implying that they were expanding. But I cannot find any record of it on my site or the Community Board site. And the NY State Liquor Authority doesn’t have anything on its site for either address — 88 or 84!
So I can’t quite narrow in on this one…
Other Nosy Neighbor posts:
i went in their a few months ago to get a gift certificate for someone and the manager said they were going to do renovations and expand to next door…..so make sure if your friend wants to use it at tribeca location, do it before whatever date which i forgot but said UES is open…
I am sure they are not going out of business…
