••• James noticed that Rag & Bone has placed decals in the window of 8 N. Moore, the former Bubble Lounge, confirming what had been rumored since last October. (I’ll snap a pic soon.) Back then, the word was that the space would also be half women’s store, because it fronts both N. Moore and W. Broadway. We shall see…. UPDATE: Got the pix. None of the signage, which is on both sides, specifies “men’s store.”
••• The former Pearl Paint building, which is going condo, is looking great (click on the photo see it larger).
••• I spotted some familiar faces at W. 4th and Barrow.
••• I knew that Tracy Anderson had a temporary location while her new studio gets built out, but I hadn’t known where it was till I walked by it on Mercer. I don’t know if I understand the “Vitamin Me” shirt. Does “Take once daily for best results” mean what I think it does?
••• Sky Ting Yoga confirmed in an email that it is indeed opening a studio on the second floor of 381-383 Broadway. From its website:
The yoga we teach is a medley of lineages. All styles of yoga have something important to offer and we steal from them all! Cross-pollinating yogic material allows us to create something wholly new yet refined with rich substance and history. In biology, monocultures are highly susceptible to disease and death. Likewise, we believe that braiding a diverse pool of influences helps us create the strongest possible offering for the physical, emotional and cultural health and well being of our wonderful community. The primary traditions we study and borrow from most are Katonah, Taoist, Hatha and Vinyasa, as well as several different meditation and breathing practices. In addition, since we are fortunate to have such a high caliber of teachers at SKY TING, we encourage them to instruct the blend of material in which they most identify and believe, rather than sticking to a prescribed generic curriculum.
Rag & Bone construction appears to be done.
