1ST PRECINCT STABLES
After a meeting with CB1, the 1st Precinct stables appeared to get at least a temporary reprieve. Then, only one day later, the NYPD reportedly rejected other possible sites and was prepping for a move today (Monday), perhaps for just 18 months—or so they say. A letter of explanation from Ray Kelly is expected in the next few days.
LADDER NO. 8 IS AT RISK
The Bloomberg administration is pushing for FDNY cuts, including possibly the closing of 20 firehouses—Tribeca’s “Ghostbusters” firehouse among them. (See “In the News” below for info on a “Save the firehouse” Facebook page and Twitter account.)
