2) 105 Reade Street, application for corporate change for Sazon Inc. – Resolution I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Seeing as how contentious Sazón has been in the past, it’d have been helpful if CB1 had indicated what the corporate change might be—so neighbors can decide whether they need to show up.
3) 349 Greenwich Street, application for restaurant liquor license for Greenwich Rest LLC – Resolution I don’t know if this is the same outfit (d.b.a. Brick and Mason) that applied for the Dean’s space in July but had to wait because it posted the wrong meeting date.
4) Application to transfer restaurant liquor license for 90 Chambers Street to Kaede Japanese Cuisine, Inc. – Resolution Hmm…. When I called Sushi Dojo—which has been in negotiations to open here—they said they didn’t know anything about this, and that the owner of the space could be pursuing other options. But then what’s being transferred? It seems likelier, even if the person I spoke with wasn’t aware of it, that Sushi Dojo is incorporating Dojo Tribeca separately from Sushi Dojo. We shall see.
5) 20 Warren Street, application for a liquor license for an entity to be formed by Joseph Crotty – Resolution Anyone know who Joseph Crotty is or what he’s up to?
6) 285 W. Broadway, application for alteration of liquor license to extend operating hours for Haus – Resolution Haus has a big pair of cojones, I’ll give it that. The owner and lawyer swore it’d be a “mixology lounge” and not a nightclub, but it’s totally a nightclub (and not even trying to hide it). They said there wouldn’t be a dance floor. Will CB1 bear a grudge when haus comes back looking for 4 a.m seven nights a week, which must be why it’s returning? It usually does, but it seems to have a big blind spot for this establishment.
7) 281 W. Broadway, application for renewal of sidewalk café license for Pepolino’s – Resolution
8) 67 Murray Street, application for liquor license for Kinjo Inc. d/b/a Gunbae – Resolution Gun bae is Korean for “cheers,” so could the old Lilly O’Briens space be turning into a Korean bar? Or simply a Korean-owned bar? The fact that it’s a liquor license and not a restaurant liquor license makes me think food is not the main point. UPDATE: The word on the street is that it’ll be Korean barbecue on the ground floor and karaoke downstairs.
