••• I looks like 39 N. Moore is indeed the first salon under the Nexxus haircare brand.

Owned by Unilever, Nexxus is a mass-market brand, so this (expensive) location must be an attempt to take it upscale. The type on the right is, um, poetic:

Responsive, seamless, unrivaled
Moving with effortless ease

The text on the door mentions Kevin Mancuso, a hair big shot with a salon on Fifth Ave. in Midtown. Clearly, Nexxus wants some of his glamour to rub off.

••• Baked got its cake pole (an homage to the Harmony burlesque house that used to be there). Two things: 1) Note the Bundt cake. I’ve had some delicious ones from Baked—especially one with maple. 2) Possibly, I’ve had too much in general at Baked. Yesterday, a staffer asked if I live in the building….

••• I’ve been wondering why the new condominium at 11 N. Moore is taking so long, but today I noticed that the curtain wall and windows are being installed—it’s just hard to tell under all that exoskeleton. Should make for quite a reveal.

••• Kim’s Cleaners is indeed moving from Independence Plaza North to the Arman at Canal and Greenwich.

••• The Spring Street Salt Shed (at Canal and West) is coming along…. Renderings of the very interesting building are here.

••• The former Mondo Cane space at 174 Duane is getting a new storefront, and from the looks of the drawing posted, it’ll be classic Tribeca. I’m sure it’ll look great, but I always loved how Mondo Cane’s huge picture window was angled for the perfect view of Staple Street.

••• 502 Canal got nicer street numbers. Its next-door neighbor’s must still be on back order.
