The new flower shop Dutch Petals makes a nice addition to Church Street, spilling out on to the sidewalk with tiers of potted plants, hay bales, and a bucket of sunflowers. It’s an outpost of a chain based in Southampton, which is where arrangements get made if you order one at the store. Inside, you’ll find bouquets both mixed and uniform—with the exception of roses, flowers are not sold by the stem—and a handful of small succulents. The flowers come from the Netherlands, as you might expect, as well as Ecuador and Colombia.
Dutch Petals is at 165 Church (between Reade and Chambers), 212-385-6700; dutchpetals.com.
