  1. great news about mariachi’s. it’s a wonderful family owned restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for decades. definitely a cut above your standard mexican joint. it used to be called the little place when it was in what is now the mangez avec mois express take out place.

  2. Mariachi’s – YES!!!

  3. Interesting – I believe The Little Place, then the Little Bigger Pace, then Mariachi, was founded by cooks from Kitchenette and took over Kitchenette’s tiny space as K moved to the NW corner of Warren and W B’way. So they’re following Kitchenette yet again!

But the question remains, if Mariachi can pay the rent 156 Chambers is now asking, why couldn’t Kitchenette?

  4. You are finding humor in what a shelter or probation office can do to a neighborhood. Have you been to the Fulton Street area recently? Yes, more of them are needed but there is plenty of city space unused along our waterfront, etc. for such things and YES our children matter as much as our west side neighbors.
