In TriBeCa, our favorite spot is Petrarca. Great Italian food, although a bit expensive (at least compared to what we are used to from the East Village; apparently these prices are normal for TriBeCa!). Always a consistently great meal there, fresh pastas are fantastic, service is excellent, atmosphere just right.
Nearby favorite: Buddha Bodai on Mulberry. Vegan Asian.
Have not had much luck finding good vegan options in TriBeCa. Any recommendations welcome! (Petrarca has some vegan pasta options, since even pastas are not necessarily vegan)
Maybe adding “vegan” and/or “vegetarian” categories to the Restaurant Guide? Although I fear those may be empty menus at the moment…but might encourage an intrepid restauranteur to open a new veg place!
In TriBeca – we keep finding ourselves going back to South’s or Woodrow’s for burgers; Max, Ecco or Scalini Fedeli for Italian, American Cut for Steak & Bubby’s for Brunch.
Best happy hours: Greenwich St Tavern, Sarabeth’s & Terrior
Of the new list – I was very impressed with Wooly Public (esp the atmosphere), Harry & Ida’s and Blue Ribbon Federal Grill.
The new restaurants that have moved in are more miss/ripoff than hit, IMO.
R.I.P Cornerstone Grill. I still <3 you.
