SAMUEL CAPSOUTO, THE LAST OF THE CAPSOUTO FRERES, DIES AT 76
The three brothers’ restaurant, Capsouto Frères, was an oasis in northern Tribeca, opening in 1980 and closing after Sandy. Between them, they helped establish the neighborhood as the Tribeca we know today.

The bar in the Smyth hotel is large and comfortable, with lots of nooks for conversation and a mid-century vibe.

CB1 district manager is leaving the neighborhood. Plus dinner on Duane Park set for fall; a new gallery for Broadway; the 9/11 Memorial creates a new outdoor tour.

CAFE CLEMENTINE IS OPEN
And the scaffolding should be down soon on 325 Greenwich. The sandwich shop took the lease there in March 2021. It’s been a saga ever since.

TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL LAUNCHES NEXT WEEK
Films, talks, concerts and other events run from June 7 to 18 all around the city, including at BMCC and Spring Studios.

NOSY NEIGHBOR: WHY WAS THIS GIANT ROCK UNLOADED HERE?
