Neighborhood businesses that provide classes for kids are finding ways to share their expertise, their products and their lessons while kids are stuck at home or even out of the city.

FREE MEALS FOR STUDENTS AT LOCAL SCHOOLS
School cafeteria staff is preparing and packing meals to-go for any kids who show up at local public schools. There have not been many takers.

SEEN & HEARD
Eataly is open and serving to-go. But Frenchette, Maxwell’s and Houseman have closed — temporarily — and are appealing to fans to help support their staffs during the crisis.

COVID-19 UPDATE: WESTFIELD MALL IS CLOSED
The Westfield mall has shut down its operations, and only a few tenants still have hours posted: Eataly, Shake Shack, PNC Bank and WeWork.

YOU CAN STILL SHOP LOCAL!
Get toys delivered! Send flowers to your housebound friends! Finally have time to read? Order online and have your book waiting for you at the teller. There are still ways to shop local.

COVID-19 UPDATE: HOURS FOR WHOLE FOODS
The store will be open from 8a to 9. with the hours of 7 to 8a reserved only for people ages 60+. There are also new rules for prepared foods and a raise for employees.

IF YOU ARE DESPERATE FOR FRESH AIR
The parks are open and one of this neighborhood’s great resources in times of crisis. Plus this may be your only chance to find some free space at the fields.

WHERE IN TRIBECA?
This may be one of the only things you can do in this shelter-in-place era: walk around by yourself and look for random artifacts on the streets of the neighborhood.
