••• Chef Amanda Freitag left the Harrison.
••• Il Matto got three stars from the New York Times.
••• A dinner club (left) opened on Worth Street.
••• I updated everyone on the state of the site.
••• BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center and Industria Argentina agreed to give away dance tickets and a dinner. You can still play.
••• Moomah got a beer-and-wine license. Watch out for reckless stroller driving!
••• New Amsterdam Market is now weekly.
••• The building at 137 Franklin (at Hudson) got sent back to the drawing board.
••• TCQ&As with a FiDi booster and BPC entrepreneur.
••• Franklin Café Tavola Calda changed ownership.
••• Bogardus Plaza opened. And even though I knew about I still got thwarted by it when the cab I was in couldn’t turn right from Chambers onto Hudson.
••• Pan Latin closed.
••• The Battery Park City Ice Rink is rumored to be on thin ice.
••• We saw the future, and it’s crowded. (The 9/11 memorial is projected to see 5.5 million visitors. In its first 12 months, the preview site had 1.1 million visitors.)
••• The street-level space at 471 Washington (at Canal) won’t be commercial after all.
••• SoulCycle and Kula Yoga are expanding (outside Tribeca).
••• Spaghetti Western closed after 23 years.
••• Canal Park Playhouse’s opening was delayed until November.
••• The Friends of Duane Park gave us a preview—in one, two, three (right) installments—and you should really buy your ticket soon.
••• Super Linda, the restaurant coming to the old Delphi space, ran into a hurdle with the CB1 Landmarks committee, but it didn’t matter because the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission had no issue with it. Gotta say it: The old sign on the side is great, but the first two floors of that building were ruined a long time ago.
••• I waxed prematurely nostalgic.
••• Handsome 34 Leonard went rental in a very expensive way. Looks nice.
••• Downtown Dance Factory opened in a jazzy space.
••• We saw inside the funnest townhouse ever.
••• Katy Perry and Russell Brand bought a place on N. Moore. The whole is most definitely not greater than the sum of its parts.
••• The sidewalks gave up a secret.
••• Bar Artisanal is becoming a Mexican restaurant.
••• A contemporary-art gallery opened on Duane.
••• The Sheraton Tribeca unveiled itself. Is there a message in the façade?
••• Park51 released some glitzy new renderings.
••• Equinox and Citibabes are getting into bed together.
••• The mayor and I had a brief encounter. But—presumably—only one of us is still talking about it.
