Nosy Neighbor: What Are Those Holes in 1 World Trade Center?

These voids appeared in the surface of 1 World Trade Center months ago. Any idea what they’re for? —J.

“The windows were removed to allow the temporary window washing rigs to operate,” explains a rep for the Durst Organization. “When the permanent rigs are installed the glass will be replaced.”

  1. “Widow” washing is a most unfortunate typo in connection with Durst.

  2. Hi Erik – do you know if the pipe works on Warren Street between West Broadway and Church are really done as some of the doormen in the block mentioned or we should expect a new and even more invasive round of works similarly to what’s going on one block east on Warren btwn West Broadway and Greenwich ?

    Thanks!
