I was wondering if you have any updates on Pier 25. When will it be fully restored/repaired for the public? —B.

“We expect the Pier 25 playground to reopen early May, following construction as a result of Hurricane Sandy,” said a rep for Hudson River Park Trust. “As for the the mini golf and volleyball courts, power is still out from the storm. The park is working with the tenant of the space, Manhattan Youth, to get the area ready to the extent that it can operate without power with a hopeful spring reopening.” (During the day, of course, the lack of power isn’t much of an issue; nighttime is another story.) In the meantime, the athletic field is open, and you can almost walk/run the pier’s perimeter pier—there’s just one chunk (pictured above), to the north of the playground, that’s fenced off, and it’s easy enough to make your way around it.
