Nosy Neighbor: What’s Going on Under Nobu Next Door?

What’s going on under Nobu Next Door? I’ve never seen a sidewalk ripped up so that you can see the cellar level! —V.

I asked the folks at Myriad Restaurant Group, which owns Nobu, and I was told to ask the owners of 105 Hudson instead. “We’re replacing our sidewalks and redoing our vaults,” was the answer. “Why does someone want to know?” I explained that people are naturally curious, especially when a project has been going on for so long. “It only started two weeks ago.” Oh… “It’ll probably be completed in September or October. Actually, the part in front of Nobu on Hudson should be done in August, and then we have to do a bit around the corner on Franklin.” So there you go.
