Nosy Neighbor: When Is the Arman Getting Its Arman?

Arman Building 482 GreenwichThe Arman building at Greenwich and Canal has been occupied for a while, but there’s no sign of the Arman artwork that’s supposed to be on the front. Can you find out when it’ll arrive? —N.

“The sculpture for the outside of the Arman is currently being fabricated overseas,” responded Marc Ravner of Magnum Real Estate Group, which developed the project. “It is expected to be installed sometime after the 1st of the year.” Naturally, I asked if there was a rendering of what it’ll look like. “I don’t have one that I feel comfortable releasing as it is a custom art piece and likely to vary from the image,” said Ravner. Such high standards!

I found two renderings—the address is 482 Greenwich, by the way—in the archives. The first was from a previous design (thank goodness) for the building; the details of the second, which is much more subdued, is harder to discern. Time will tell….
